Two ships passing in the night
The dark and the light
Both sailing for distant shores
Each on a whirlwind of their own tours
Two ships bound for faraway lands
Each working desperately to meet their own demands
Their captains take note
The crews pay no attention to something so rote
The cargo they carry
Packaged differently but needs the same ferry
To some, used only for great sin
Others know that they can’t truly win
One skipper lays on the horn
The other listens and couldn’t be more torn
Obstacles are ahead, that’s for sure
But he’s seen many and can’t imagine much more
Two ships passing in the night
Both impossibly lost in the midst of the ocean’s might
Taking solace in the wisdom both lend
The destination is not the journey’s end
